I’ve always dreamed of going to Egypt. But the closest I’ve gotten is Las Vegas.

Las Vegas? That’s right. Las Vegas. Recently, I stayed at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas which is like traveling 3,000 years back in time.

The Luxor is the world’s first pyramid -shaped hotel, casino, and entertainment complex. It’s a great place to escape the pressures of modern existence in an atmosphere of luxury thousands of years old.

In olden times, you didn’t get to stay inside a pyramid until your days were up.  So what do you do in this pyramid? You can rejuvenate your body with a massage or facial in the men’s or women’s health spas. Gently part the waters of one of the largest outdoor pools in Las Vegas, complete with private cabanas. Or simply sleep and enjoy the heavenly desert view.

Within the pyramid, you can voyage down the River Nile past murals illustrating the rich history of the Egyptian empire. Stand in the shadow of the famed seated Ramses of Abu Simbel. Or explore the greatest ancient Egyptian discovery ever, King Tut’s tomb.

For a modern twist of adventure, take a trip through time in ”The Secrets of the Luxor Pyramid:” three cutting-edge attractions that race through ancient civilization, to present day excitement, then into a future unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

If a mountain of treasure is what you week, visit Luxor’s immense casino. Indulge in any of seven sumptuous restaurants. And delight in nightly performances within an arena worthy of the ancient pharaohs.

My only criticism of the Luxor is the layout is so convoluted that it takes ages to get around.
