Kids Rule at the Hill Country Resort and Spa

Hyatt Regency Opens Youth-Only Spa

The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort, featuring miles of nature trails, bikes, playground and a 950-foot long Ramblin' River proves once again that kids are number one with the opening of The SPAhhhT youth spa, the perfect "spot" to be in this summer.

With its grand opening slated for June 2003, The SPAhhhT will offer a variety of youth-designed services such as Henna Tatoos, Updo's, Mai-Tai party-knots for hair and basic salon services like pedicures and manicures and clothed massage treatments under the supervision of a parent or guardian. The SPAhhht offers a first-class spa experience unlike any other and a setting that captures the feel and look today's youth is looking for.

"Our clientele has repeatedly asked us to offer spa treatments for their children." Said David R. Phillips, the resort's general manager. "The SPAhhhT is our solution. Parents have Windflower-The Hill Country Spa as an adult haven to escape to and their children will now have a fun, unique place to get  'grown-up' services."

Customized 25- to 50-minute treatments will be offered in 3 treatment rooms housed near Camp Hyatt, the resort's award-winning kid's program. Two of the rooms will be used for massages, while the other room will be equipped for hair and nail services. Some services, such as air-brushed nail art and hair weaving will also be available at a special "poolside" cabana, set up just for youth-spa treatments. Youth spa-goers will have locker access and be issued a "spa wardrobe" of a SPAhhhT-logoed robe and slippers.

"We want young guests who visit our spa to have a fun and unique experience. We have tried to created that both in décor and our youth-designed signature treatments," said SPAhhht Director Sherrie Huebner. "The treatment rooms will be painted in colors and tones scientifically proven to be relaxing and soothing. Our salon and waiting area will be painted by a local youth program, in bright colors, featuring the excitement of youth.

The SPAhhhT will also have youth-inspired retail products available for sale. The SPAhhhT is open to local San Antonians, as well as resort guests.
