Where to Get Bare This Summer

Nude Recreation Week Activities Planned for July

Shortly after millions of people across the country join together to celebrate our nation's independence on July 4, there will be a week-long celebration of freedom of a different kind - - as nudist clubs throughout the United States and Canada open their doors for Nude Recreation Week.

Now in its 28th year, Nude Recreation Week is July 7-13, and gives first-timers the chance to shed their stresses through a glimpse into clothes-free recreation.  This annual celebration is an open invite for individuals - and families - to visit one of the 267 clothing-optional clubs affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), and experience firsthand a rapidly growing trend in both travel and recreation.

All AANR-affiliated clubs have activities and events planned throughout the week, for the club nearest you log onto the association's website at www.aanr.com.

A sampling of events planned at various locales include: .

  • July 12 Open House with band and bar-b-que chicken dinner at Cedar Creek, south of Columbia, SC.

  • Weekend of July 12-13 Cypress Cove Nudist Resort & Spa, south of Orlando will have a Caribbean holiday featuring "Jerk Food," afternoon of Reggae music, evening dance, Limbo contests, volleyball and tennis tournaments.

  • At Empire Haven, in the Finger Lakes region of New York state, on July 12, 9am-5pm there's no charge for first timers, a noontime hot dog roast, and a non-birthday birthday party/60s dance that evening.
