The Best Three Dollar Chocolate Experience in the World
By Madelyn Miller, the Travellady.com
I have traveled the world testing chocolate. I have gained
pounds in the process, but enjoyed every moment.
There are many good reasons to go to Utah’s Stein Eriksen
Lodge. Most people love skiing, hiking or biking on the mountain trails,
enjoying the outdoors and gorgeous vistas, or relaxing in the spa. And, of
course, there is the Lodge’s German Chocolate Popsicle.
If there is one thing I enjoy as much as chocolate, it is a
good bargain. So imagine how thrilled I was to discover a chocolate dessert at
the Glitretind, the renowned restaurant at the AAA Five Diamond Lodge, for less
than five dollars.
Actually, the German Chocolate Popsicle, which consists of
German chocolate ice cream dipped in milk chocolate and pecan pieces, is a
palate-satisfying pleasure for only three dollars.
It is worth the 5-minute drive from Main Street in Park
City or the 45-minute drive from Salt Lake City to Stein Eriksen Lodge, located
mid-mountain at the world class Deer Valley® Resort. And with the money you
save, you could even try another marvelous dessert at the Glitretind because
executive chef Zane Holmquist and his staff perform chocolate miracles daily.
Yet if some people would walk a mile for a Camel, I now
know I would go even further for a chocolate popsicle.
Visitors to the Lodge can also indulge in the Lodge’s
fabulous hand-made chocolates. The chocolate genius behind these is Raymond
Lammers, executive pastry chef. Lammers works closely with the executive chef to
create savory, world-class desserts that compliment the Lodge's menus.
These delectable chocolates can be enjoyed at the Lodge or
ordered online at
http://www.steinlodge.com/dining/chocolate_order_form.php. The chocolates
come in a
unique variety of savory flavors, including:
Curry
Lemon Grass
Coconut
Amarena Cherry
Hazelnut Drambuie
Passion fruit
Licorice root
Rooi Bos tea
Chai tea
Cinnamon Cognac
Sea Salt
White Chocolate Café Latte
