Dallas
Black Dance Theatre celebrates the 14th Annual Founder’s Luncheon January 8,
2010 at the Hilton Anatole. The luncheon, a community driven
appreciation event, brings together individuals who share in the vision and
passion of Founder, Ann M. Williams and celebrates the significant
accomplishments of Dallas Black Dance Theatre. This year’s luncheon
excitement is heightened with Dallas Black Dance Theatre celebrating the
opening of its inaugural season in the AT&T Performing Arts Center Dee and
Charles Wyly Theatre. The luncheon includes the presentation of the
Founder’s Award to civic and business leaders who have made an impact and
commitment to Dallas Black Dance Theatre. The 2010 honorees are
Target, Harold Simmons Foundation and Sam and Ruth Bussey Foundation.
Co-sponsors for the 2010 luncheon are Bank of Texas, N.A., Hilton Anatole,
Idearc Media, LLC, and Wells Fargo.

Series - Limitless Dance
Choreography of nationally and locally acclaimed
choreographers Troy Powell, Hope Boykin, Christopher Huggins, Allyne D.
Gartrell and Nycole will surely take audience members to the edge of
experiencing dance as Dallas Black Dance Theatre performs Brother to
Brother, Lambarena and Love Ti-Tango. New York choreographer
Christopher Huggins brings newly commissioned spiritually influenced ballet
to the stage of the AT&T Performig Arts Center Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre.
This ballet will be sure to move the heart and souls of all.

About the Dallas Black Dance Theatre
Founded in 1976 by Ann Williams, the mission of the
Dallas Black Dance Theatre is to create and produce contemporary modern
dance at its highest level of artistic excellence through performances and
educational programs that bridge cultures and reach diverse communities.
With an ever-expanding national and global audience, the company employs a
diverse, multi-ethnic troupe of dancers, performing for audiences of all
ages and backgrounds. The ensemble, a contemporary modern dance
company, consists of 12 professional, full-time dancers performing a mixed
repertory of modern jazz, ethnic, and spiritual works by nationally and
internationally known choreographers.
