Cycle and Save on Five Ireland Bike Tours
The
West of Ireland has always held a special allure for bicyclists, from rugged
Donegal in the northwest to cosmopolitan Kinsale on the south coast. This
summer, Easy Rider Tours will be offering cyclists a choice of five biking
itineraries that explore Ireland's west coast from top to bottom. In honor of
St. Patrick's Day, $100 per person discount will be applied to all Ireland tours
booked during the month of March.
Easy
Rider's tours are designed for a variety of cycling abilities, and cyclists of
all levels will find an itinerary to suit. For novice bikers, "Western Shores"
visits County Clare, Connemara, the Aran Islands, and Galway. At the other end
of the biking spectrum, Easy Rider's new "Celtic Challenge" is designed for
experienced cyclists seeking long-mileage days and mountain passes. Intermediate
cyclists will enjoy the ride on "Coasting Kerry," which explores Killarney
National Park and the Dingle Peninsula, and "Donegal Highlands," which
celebrates the romantic landscapes of Yeats Country and County Sligo. Easy
Rider's two-week "Best of the West" extravaganza combines the best of Clare,
Connemara, and Kerry.
Tours
run from 8 to 15 days in length, with departures from late May through
mid-September. Tour prices range from US$2,450 to $3,750 (without airfare), and
include all accommodations in country inns and guest houses, most meals,
services of two guides, and a support van to carry luggage and provide
assistance. Off-bike highlights include private performances by a noted Irish
storyteller, toe-tapping music seisiuns, shopping for hand-knit sweaters and
traditional bodhran drums, and of course, the pubs!
Easy Rider Tours has been biking in Ireland since 1986, and
now offers the most extensive Irish bicycling program of any North American
outfitter. The company also offers a wide choice of active vacations in Spain,
Portugal, the Canadian Maritimes, and New England. The entire 2005 schedule,
with pricing, tour descriptions, and itineraries, can be found on the Easy Rider
