Yoga Students Ring In The New Year With Healthy
Resolutions:
Seven- Day Caribbean Getaway, December 28, 2002 -
January 4, 2003
This year, Practice Yoga, located on Manhattan’s
Upper West Side, makes it easy to stick to New Year’s resolutions of getting
healthy and fit, by offering students a relaxing, fun and rewarding Yoga
retreat in the Caribbean island of Dominica. The studio invites students to
ring in the New Year at Dominica’s quaint Rainforest Retreat Cottages—where
yoga and island excursions, such as whale watching, diving and snorkeling
are offered daily. In addition to the rocky clear water beaches, exquisite
waterfalls and rugged green-mountains, the resort offers luxury amenities
such as pool, spa services and on-site chefs to prepare healthy and
delicious homemade meals.
Jennifer Walker, Practice Yoga owner and
organizer of the New Year’s retreat, is offering students a seven-day
Caribbean getaway which includes airfare, lodging, two meals per day
(breakfast & dinner) and yoga twice daily for only $1,799 per person*.
The retreat, held December 28, 2002 – January 4, 2003, will offer
both beginner and advanced yoga classes to accommodate all levels of
experience. Walker says, “Practice Yoga’s retreat is geared for
couples or singles who wish to forgo hectic parties and dreaded hangovers,
in exchange for seven days of revitalizing sunshine, relaxing yoga and
island adventures.” This trip is very affordable, so it’s the perfect
excuse for students treat themselves or an over-stressed friend to a
relaxing getaway,” adds Walker.
Students can sign up now for the retreat to be held in
Dominica, a tiny undiscovered gem of an island located near Guadeloupe and
Martinique. Dubbing itself “The Nature Island,” this lush, unspoiled
mountainous terrain with misty morning showers, rainbows and tropical
breezes, averages temperatures around 80 degrees. Dominica’s gray beaches
are made up of sand and volcanic ash from the mountains; the ocean is
crystal clear and calm on the Caribbean side, rougher on the Atlantic side.
The Rainforest Cottages, owned by Walker’s mother and her Dominican husband,
are located in the lovely secluded in the Roseau Valley called Shawford
Estate, just five minutes from three major island attractions and only a ten
minute drive to town.
