Monterey Jazz Festival  50th Anniversary Tour

TITAS continues the 2007-2008 Music Season with a bang with the Monterey Jazz Festival 50th Anniversary Band on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 8:00 PM at McFarlin Auditorium as part of its fifty-four date, ten-week tour of the United States.

The longest continually-running jazz festival in the world, the Monterey Jazz Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary with a national tour. Maintaining Monterey's tradition of bringing together veteran and younger artists, the show stars Terence Blanchard (trumpet), James Moody (saxophone), Benny Green (piano), Nnenna Freelon (special guest vocalist), Derrick Hodge (bass) and Kendrick Scott (drums).

A video display on the history of the festival will travel with the attraction and will be set up in the lobby of McFarlin Auditorium. This evening will be a treat for jazz lovers of all ages!

TITAS is the premier presenter of eclectic and international dance and music performers in North Texas. Founded by Tom Adams in 1982 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) cultural/educational institution, TITAS has provided Dallas/Fort Worth audiences with such performers as American Ballet Theatre, Pilobolus, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Philip Glass, KODO Drummers, STOMP and many others. TITAS is now celebrating its 25th Anniversary Season under the direction of current Executive Director Charles Santos.
