Scenic Moose and Wildlife Tours
Make Memorable Vacations
Seeking a bit of nature on your vacation this year?
Imagine spotting an animal as big as a horse with long, dark brown hair and
large ears. This is what you will find while on the Scenic Moose and
Wildlife Tours. Moose are the largest member of the deer family. Each spring
the male moose grow antlers that can reach 5 feet in length. North America’s
largest wild animal enjoys its solitude, but seeks the company of other
moose during the breeding season.
The
Scenic Moose and Wildlife Tours is a highpoint for anyone visiting New
Hampshire's White Mountains. Spotting one of these fabulous woodland
creatures is almost assured while on the three-hour journey. Along with
Moose there is plenty of other native wildlife, including bald eagle to be
seen as you travel along the picturesque Androscoggin River into the 13-Mile
Woods.
Visitors on the tour will enjoy the view of nature
while riding in the comfort of an air-conditioned 21-passenger van in search
of the gentle giant of the North Country. As many as thirteen moose have
been sited at one time on the Tours. If you take the Gorham Scenic Moose and
Wildlife Tour in May you also have a good chance of spotting a mother with
her young. The breeding season for Moose runs from the middle of September
on the through mid-October. About 230 days later calves are born that can
weigh from 25 to 35 pounds.
Nature is unpredictable. Everyone who owns a camera
hopes to capture a perfect picture of nature while on vacation. On the
Scenic Moose and Wildlife Tours you can capture these majestic creatures on
film while they feast on shrubs, leaves, and fresh buds. If you are looking
for a memorable vacation, then the Scenic Moose and Wildlife Tours is the
prefect addition to your travel plans. Children will also be thrilled to see
these giant relatives of the deer and learn more about nature.
Tours start from the Information Booth in the heart of
Gorham, NH, and leave at 6:30pm every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
from May 31 through October 11, 2004.
