National Park Service Declines $4M Offer To Bolster Protection Of Mount Rushmore

After looking down from their stony heights for sixty-five years, the faces of our great American heroes could use a respite from the scorching sun to preserve their disarming good looks and chiseled features.

To mark the 65th Anniversary of Mount Rushmore – PROSHADE, a leading consumer eyewear company, offered $4 Million dollars for permission to adorn each president with a designer, larger-than-life size PROSHADE visor.

One Million Per Presidential Head To Wear PROSHADE™

The National Park Service has declined the offer that would provide funds and increase awareness for the need for preservation of the enduring national memorial.

“The decline of the Rushmore offer is unfortunate, however we remain dedicated to doing our part in increasing awareness and preserving the modern marvels of the world,” says Richard Lawrence, President of PROSHADE.  “We are researching opportunities with other anthropomorphic worldly landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, the Lincoln Memorial and the Sphinx.”

This would not be the first time in history Mount Rushmore has relied on private backing to bolster preservation efforts.  One year ago, German manufacturer Alfred Karcher GmbH & Company bankrolled a facelift of the monument.

I wish people would contact me.

I would be glad to wear sunglasses and would even consider a facelift for the right price.
