Cocinar Mexicano participants live in the picturesque
village of Tepoztlán, an hour's drive from Mexico City, where they enjoy
luxury accommodations in the
POSADA DEL TEPOZTECO where terraced gardens overlook cobbled streets and
the town’s famous open-air market.
Market baskets in hand, students shop each morning for
the fresh ingredients to prepare for
FULL MENUS. The group cooks each morning in beautifully appointed local
kitchens and feast each afternoon on their own dishes. Chef Marta García, of
the acclaimed El Ciruelo restaurant, is lead instructor.
COCINA DIRECTOR, Magda Bogin, provides simultaneous translation during
INSTRUCTION. Guest chefs also take part during classes. Each evening
students dine in local restaurants where they sample the fare of other
cooks.
 Excursions to nearby museums, ample leisure time for
relaxing at the Posada and optional
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES include swimming, hiking, adobe sweat baths and
massage, a complete experience which promises an unforgettable experience in
one of Mexico's officially designated 'magical villages'.

… I loved the week, learning to make great things,
using terrific ingredients, watching Marta cook, working alongside Tere and
everyone else. I loved being introduced to the market on the first day,
instead of puzzling about what the foods were. I liked the mole-lesson (I
think of those two ladies cooking it for 3 days), and then coming back to
taste how different it was after all that cooking. Being out-of-doors all
the time in your terrific kitchen was wonderful!
