Dance Theater of Harlem is season finale performance
for Dallas Black Dance Theatre

The Spring Celebration Series of Dallas Black Dance Theatre marks the season finale performance for the 33rd season of Dallas Black Dance Theatre.  May 19th through 23rd at the AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre Dallas Black Dance Theatre welcomes guest artist Dance Theatre of Harlem as they perform the The Greatest (pas de deux).  Dance Theatre of Harlem brings their dancer’s graceful beauty and delicate steps to the stage of the Wyly Theatre. 

Non– Traditional Contemporary Tango

Co-sponsored by TACA and Bank of America and supported through Raytheon the Spring Celebration series is highlighted with the return of to Dallas Black Dance Theatre with the complete ballet suite of Journey to the One.  “This stunning non-traditional contemporary tango will thrill audiences as it begins with a suite of five company dancers, progressing to four male dancers, on to the trio, a duet and ending with the Journey to the One – the passionate female solo of veteran dancer Janine Beckles,” says Founder/Artistic Director, Ann M. William.

Duet inspired by Strife of Relationship

Dallas Black Dance Theatre also performs Camille A. Brown’s premiere Our Honeymoon is Over, a duet inspired by the strife and challenge between man and woman in relationship as expressed through the artistic dance movements of Dallas Black Dance Theatre.

The Metroplex can experience Spring Celebration for five performances beginning Wednesday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m. concluding with the Sunday, May 23rd matinee performance at 2:30 p.m.  The expanded number of performances has proven to be a gem and you will not want to miss this season finale. <

All programs and artists subject to change.  Wednesday evening performance begin at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances begin at 2:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
