Traveling and Saving money

The two things I love most in life

By Madelyn Miller, the TravelLady

Do you enjoy a vacation more when you know you have gotten a great deal? I know I do. There is a sense of complete relaxation plus the satisfaction of knowing your got more than you expected.

Imagine if you could save up to 60% on each vacation. That might mean you could take three times as many vacations.

How do all these savings add up? And more important, how do you do it?

I know quite a few people who have invested in time shares and love it. They love the security of having a “prepaid” place to stay and being sure they can have their place when they want it.

And I just learned about a company HOLIDAY GROUP, that resells timeshares at significant savings. I love those words.

The original owners of a timeshare pay for a lot of the marketing and development of a property. When you buy it from a reseller, you get the same benefits at a lot lower cost. And you get to skip the infamous “high pressure salesmen” that stop many people from even considering timeshares.

Same Time Next Year

I loved the movie Same Time, Next Year. You can have the same experience with a spouse or family members if you own a timeshare. And just think how the savings add up if you can congratulate yourself each year on saving 60%.

Here are a few tips from the Holiday Group people on how to make your vacation more romantic:

  • Make a list of things you both enjoy

  • Have a variety of locations to choose from

  • Choose a location that has things you both like

  • Have a budget in mind and come to an agreement on it

  • Plan your stay as far in advance as possible

  • Pack ahead of time and plan for weather changes

Imagine a young couple doing this with some of their wedding gift money. Sort of like making a down payment on a house, only it is a commitment to an annual romantic vacation. Imagine the mental scrapbook as their relation grows through the years and they add memories from each annual vacation.

Timeshares versus Tours

If you are unsure about timeshares, the Holiday Group website www.holidaygroup.com does a good job of explaining the differences in the kinds of timeshares.

Once you buy a timeshare, you can “swap” for a different week or destination. So while you can return to the same place every year, you have a zillion other options.

An Unusual Value

Timeshares are one of the few things that do not “depreciate” when resold. And you can choose from all kinds of special destinations for golf, beaches or whatever your heart desires.

DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO WOULD NOT LIKE TO TAKE MORE VACATIONS FOR LESS MONEY?
They might not be interested in www.holidaygroup.com
But you and I can smile all the way to the airport.
