What Does the TravelLady Do
When She's Not Traveling?
By Madelyn Miller
Most people carry pictures of their children, or show
vacation shots to all their friends.
Since I travel so much, I sometimes get a little
homesick for my loft and friends.
So I decided to post them on the site so I can take a
quick peak at them while I am on the road, and everyone who is interested in
what I do on vacation—can take a quick peak.

Madelyn’s Loft
I live in a historic building in Downtown Dallas, just
3 blocks from the Dallas Convention Center. The building was originally the
Sears Regional Headquarters.
I live on the top floor, in an area that was once
bedding. I feel like I have died and gone to heaven to go to sleep every
night in a retail store. It is the fantasy of every shopaholic
Madelyn’s Friends
Those
wonderful, understanding, patient people who are there for me when I am
home, and even help me while I am traveling. My friend Rochelle Brown, of
Fox-TV Insights program overnighted my business cards one time when I forgot
them. Another time she picked up my car when it had stalled the night before
I went to Portugal.
Since I review movies when I am home, I have a lot of
screeners. I love to invite friends to view them with me. Wine writer Diane
Tietlebaum usually brings the wine, and friends Kevin Kalley and David
Currier add a gourmet flair. Diane is teaching me to spit, because I still
like to swallow.

My favorite shopping buddies are Liz Berger and
Rochelle Brown.

Madelyn’s family
Son Greg lives in New York, Daughter Punzel has
inherited my gypsy spirit and if I tell you where she lives, this will be
out of date soon. My Mom lives in Florida and I think I got my gourmet and
shopping genes from her.

Some
people think I look like my daughter Punzel. What do you think
My
brother Len Jensky loves chocolate desserts. Sometimes I share with him.
Here I am sharing with him and my daughter Punzel.
Madelyn’s Pets
You must be kidding. I am not home enough to walk or
feed a pet. I hardly get to the grocery store to feed myself. I do have a
charming wooden handmade cactus from Oaxaca. And a few rubber ducks to float
in the bathtub.
Madelyn’s collections
I can’t resist cowboy boots. I have zillions. When I
travel, I love to bring back interesting textiles, buttons and beads. I
usually go to the grocery stores and markets and find local spices to bring
back to continue to enjoy new flavors and tastes.
