She was dubbed "THE TRAVEL LADY" at KDFW-TV, the Dallas Fox Station, where she frequently gives travel tips and advice. She was so well known, that she decided to use that name when she founded TravelLady.com which now has over 200 contributors on six continents When on the ground, Madelyn enjoys test driving new cars, and she owns www.carladynews.com Madelyn loves the Internet because of its immediacy and being able to change things quickly. She is a featured spa writer for http://spas.about.com, and contributes to www.evalu8.org, www.foodsiteoftheday.com, www.mycookbook.com She is co-founder of the F & B TravelAtlas Group which includes www.chocolateatlas.com, www.coctailatlas.com, www.teaAtlas.com Next up is coffeeatlas.com with several more to come. She hosted a cyber show called 'The Tattered Passport'. She has just been asked to do a travel segment on the First Wives World.But her all time favorite job was when she did a show on Chocolate for THE TRAVEL CHANNEL.
In a normal year, she does 30 trips to destinations such as India, Scotland, Peru, Germany, Australia, China and Hong Kong, Japan, Bermuda, Mexico and both coasts of the United States She has reviewed restaurants for THE DALLAS TIMES HERALD and THE MET. One of her favorite things about traveling is sampling the local cuisines at each destination.
Her favorite topics are spas, food, shopping, culture, festivals. And of course, Chocolate. She is the founder of SOUTHWEST TRAVELWRITERS ASSOCIATION. Madelyn was chosen as a judge for the 1999 Webby Awards and asked to also judge in 2000 and 2001 in the travel category. She has judged the Kona Chocolate Festival in Hawaii and is going back to judge the Kona Coffee Festival. Madelyn's mother is proud of the fact that her daughter is a judge and never had to go to law school. It all happened becuase of her skills in the clean plate club. INTERESTING PEOPLE MADELYN HAS MET
