CAROLINE ROSE
HUNT AND VIVIAN YOUNG
TO DESCRIBE
ADVENTURES IN IRISH COUNTRYSIDE
by Madelyn Miller
Caroline Rose Hunt and Vivian Young, owners of Lady
Primrose's Shopping the English Countryside, will describe their recent adventures
in Ireland at Julia Sweeney's Talk Series at noon on February 16 in the Gallery
Ballroom at The Shops and Galleries of The Crescent.
The talk will be
followed by lunch, and guests are invited to visit Lady Primrose's antique shop
for dessert with Mrs. Hunt and Mrs. Young.
Lady
Primrose's has earned an international reputation for carefully chosen unusual
antiques, decorative accessories and gift items, especially from the British
Isles, since its opening in 1987.
Movie stars often stop in and buy their yummy bath items and
fragrant candles. My personal favorite thing to do (besides have their
scrumptious desserts and tea) is to peak in the cases of antique jewelry. I
have attended some lovely "ladies" birthday parties and even attended
a bridal shower at Lady Primrose. How can
you not love a place that offers wonderful desserts and unique shopping all
under one roof?
Each year, its owners travel to Europe to find the best and
most interesting objects for their customers. Along the
way, they encounter local characters that make their buying trips amusing and
entertaining to talk about upon their return.
Julia
Sweeney's Talk Series is in its ninth year. Upcoming speakers include former
Neiman Marcus senior vice president Lawrence Marcus, City Councilwoman Laura
Miller, philanthropist Nancy Hamon, hotelier Jeff Trigger, Dallas Morning News
editorial board editor Rena Pederson, Minyard Food Stores executives Liz and
Gretchen Minyard.
Further information and credit card reservations, at $35 per
person, including lunch, may be made by calling 214 520-0206.
And if you miss this luncheon, you can always visit Lady
Primrose the next time you are in downtown Dallas.
