DIVE INTO THE
INN AT ROBERT’S GROVE IN

The
Dive Center at Robert’s Grove is supervised by a PADI certified divemaster with
worldwide diving knowledge. It’s is fully equipped with new Oceanic equipment
and two dive boats, including a 30-foot dive boat with two Honda four-stroke
130-hp engines and a 28-foot dive boat with two Honda four-stroke 115-hp
engines. The boats hold a maximum of 10 divers each, ensuring plenty of room
for preparation

The
setting for a dream diving vacation recently unveiled its on-site dive shop at
The Inn at Robert’s Grove in Belize. The Dive Center is located on the
Placencia Peninsula in southern Belize.
The
Inn at Robert’s Grove is a 35-minute boat ride away from Belize’s Barrier Reef,
the second largest living reef system in the world. Diving off the Placencia Peninsula is considered some of the best
in Belize since, as the edge of the barrier reef comes south along the coast of
Belize, it separates itself further from the mainland. The result is a broad
expanse of coral reef with channels going from 90 to 110 feet that rise
abruptly into shoals and caves. At last official count there was a minimum of
20 named diving sites in the southern waters of Belize off Placencia, bursting
with untouched coral and abundant fish life. 
Two-tank
dives at Robert’s Grove are $67 per day and include tanks, weights and lunch
(8% sales tax is additional). (Gear
rentals are available.) Certification and resort courses can be arranged. To
kick off the launch of the new Dive Center, Robert’s Grove is offering an
all-inclusive 7-night/8-day “Year 2000 Dive Package” for $1,250 per person,
based on double occupancy. The package
includes round-trip flights between Belize City and Placencia, transfers
between Placencia Airstrip and Robert’s Grove Deluxe (standard) room with king
bed, A/C, ceiling fans and private terrace. Additional benefits include all
meals (minus one lunch and dinner) 3 days of diving, (two tank dives weights
& tanks included) choice of one day trip to Monkey River or Cockscomb
Jaguar Preserve and complimentary use of resort amenities.
The
Inn at Robert’s Grove is the newest, most complete upscale resort in southern
Belize. It features 20 luxurious
guestrooms and junior suites with king-size beds, air-conditioning, ceiling
fans and private beachfront terraces and a fine dining seaside restaurant and
bar. Complimentary to inn guests are a 50-foot freshwater swimming pool, tennis
court (the only one in southern Belize), rooftop Jacuzzis, canoes, kayaks,
