Diver's Encyclo-Media
Everything you ever wanted to know about recreational scuba diving at your
fingertips.
"Encyclo-media" you won't find this term in any dictionary, but consumers will be able to find this engaging
new product on store shelves. Developed for the Professional Association of Diving Instructors
(PADI) by Dive Science and Technology (DSAT), this multimedia version of the book, The Encyclopedia of
Recreational Diving, will be the most all-inclusive, interactive program covering recreational scuba diving out on the market. With a hybrid disc
that is compatible with IBM and Macintosh systems, combined with an entertaining and captivating format, the
Encyclo-media allows underwater enthusiasts, as well as non-divers, the chance to discover scuba diving in a
user-friendly environment.
Building on the existing book version of The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving, the multimedia version has the added impact of self-guided virtual
reality tours of a recompression chamber and an underwater environment, an extensive Evolution of Diving section that highlights dive pioneers and
important dates in diving history, live science experiments performed, a link to
www.padi.com for current events and updates, an interactive Diving
Knowledge Workbook and many other convenient features.
Additions built into the multimedia version will complement the subject matter in the existing book, which includes The Chemistry and Physics of
Diving, The Physiology of Diving, Dive Equipment, The Aquatic Realm and The Evolution of Diving (formally The Future of Diving). A new section,
Discover the Possibilities, is being added to promote the sport of scuba diving, continuing education and careers in the dive
industry.
For more than 30 years, PADI has set the standard for quality, fun and excellence in diver education. More divers participate in PADI programs
than any other, making PADI the most recognized and respected diver credentials in the world. The PADI System of diver education includes the
only diving programs to qualify for college credit recommendations from the American Council on Education (ACE).
