Classic Ferrari Driving Weekend to Be Held This Fall at
Historic Amberley Castle in South of England A unique opportunity to drive not just one but five
different Ferrari models in one weekend—and to stay in a 900-year-old English
castle once owned by Queen Elizabeth I—is being offered November 3-6 by
Amberley Castle in the south of England. During the course of this special four-day, three-night
weekend, enthusiasts of one of the most famous names in motoring will have all
their dreams realized. They will be handed the keys of, in turn, a 1972 246 GTS
Dino, a 1986 308 GTS, a 1988 328 GTS, a 1990 348 TS and a 1996 355 GTS. They
are then free to explore the surrounding area independently in this case the
lovely South Downs of West Sussex. Accommodations for three nights, as well as
breakfast and dinner daily, will be at Amberley Castle, a magnificent
historical treasure that has been transformed into a country castle hotel. Built in 1103 and protected by a 60-foot medieval
fortified wall and great oak portcullis, Amberley Castle's very antiquity lends
a flavor of history to its elegantly appointed rooms. Each of the Castle's 15
bedrooms and 5 suites boasts its own Jacuzzi, and many feature four-poster
beds. Sponsoring the Ferrari Driving Weekend is Bespokes,
which has the United Kingdom's largest fleet of prestigious classics and sports
cars for rent. Over 50 vehicles are available, including a variety of models
from Ferrari, Jaguar, Aston Martin, TVR, Lotus and Porsche. Cost of the special Ferrari Weekend is £825 per person
(approximately $1230), plus tax, based on double occupancy. Guests can explore
the village of Amberley, one of the prettiest of the Sussex Downland villages,
just an hour from London, with its ancient Norman church, thatched roofs, and
country pubs, as well as other Sussex castles such as Arundel, Cowdray, Lewes
and more (each guest bedroom at Amberley Castle has a book called "Castles
in Sussex", which describes the castles and gives directions). Amberley Castle
is close to Chichester, with its elegant shops and renowned theater; Brighton,
a haunt of antique lovers; and the famous Houses of Goodwood, Petworth, Parham
