LOEWS em-BARKS on PET-FRIENDLY PROGRAM

Recent statistics showed that during 1998, 41% Americans traveled with their pet. Because of this trend, Loews Le Concorde Hotel in Québec City, Canada, is teaming with the Mira Foundation, a non-profit organization that brings up and trains dogs to accompany blind or impaired individuals, to launch “Loews Loves Pets.”

The hotel welcomes customers accompanied by their pet. A pet treat and a Loews water bowl is delivered by room service on the day of arrival. A "petsitter" can also be called up for daily walks or to take care of the pet during the absence of its master.

5% of the rate paid by a guest visiting with a pet is donated to the Mira Foundation. The goal is to raise $15 000 within the next two years, and the first dog registered will be named "Loews Premier."

Loews has covered many extras. A special housekeeping procedure has been implemented to make sure the room is thoroughly cleaned to avoid any allergy problems to future guests. And the Loews "Did you Forget Closet" has items for those who might have forgotten their pet's favorite toy or leash.
