Mixing Business with
Pleasure
It's Easy to do in Paris
More and more business trips are including families. Data released by the Travel Industry
Association of America showed that last year more than 32 million business trips included children. This was up a
massive 32 percent over the previous year.
"We are noticing this trend in rentals of our Paris apartments," says Marie-France Small, president of Paris
Sejour Reservation, Inc. (PSR), France's most experienced and most reliable provider of private rental apartments to
travelers from North America. PSR offers an inventory of more than 600 privately owned, tastefully furnished
apartments.
"As our lives become more busy, working longer hours and participating in more extracurricular activities, it
makes good sense," suggest Mrs. Small, "for business travelers to take advantage of every opportunity to mix
business with quality family time. Renting a Paris apartment is a good way to accomplish this. Traveling as a
family group on a business/vacation trip also helps ease the strain of being away from home."
For any kind of business travel to Paris, a rental apartment makes good economic sense. Rentals start at $80 a
night, a bargain compared to hotel accommodations, which can range up to $400-$500 per night at deluxe properties. In
addition, apartment rentals are practical for extended stays of several weeks or even months for business people on
longer assignments or those who are being relocated.
A rental apartment provides total privacy, a place to entertain when necessary, and a place to work without
interruptions and with all of the equipment needed to function efficiently. Available to the business traveler
are fax machines, answering machines, and other equipment that can help create an office-away-from-home. Also
available is a chauffeur service, for airport pick-ups and other custom transportation needs.
Rental apartments also offer laundry service, weekly cleaning, and other services of a hotel, including PSR's own
concierge service ready to take care of requests for theater tickets, restaurant reservations, and other services.
Standard rental rates range from $100 to $250 for a one-bedroom apartment to $140 to $350 for a two-bedroom
unit. Three bedroom apartments, especially popular with U.S. companies with a heavy load of corporate travel to
Paris, start from $300 a night. Minimum-stay requirement is five nights.
Rentals are in much-sought neighborhoods such as Champs-Elysees, Opera, Latin Quarter, and fashionable Saint-Germain. Listings range from a Left Bank studio to 16th
Arrondissement penthouse.
