Park Hyatt Tokyo's Club On The Park

A Sanctuary Above It All

By Madelyn Miller

The luxurious Park Hyatt Tokyo spa, CLUB ON THE PARK,  is an exclusive health and fitness sanctuary perched 45 floors above the busy city below.  This oasis is designed to enhance the overall well-being of hotel guests.

It is hard to imagine a more beautiful, relaxing place to rejuvenate than the 45th and 47th floors of Park Hyatt Tokyo. Stepping out of the private elevator on the 47th floor, guests are bathed in natural sunlight streaming through the glass of the pyramidal roof. The floor-to-ceiling glass walls reveal a stunning panoramic view of Tokyo from almost any vantage point on the entire floor.  Directly under the dramatic 25-meter pyramid is a 20-meter swimming pool.

An aerobics studio with a sonic flooring system and a gymnasium featuring a complete range of Cybex, Life Fitness, and Ivanco weight training and fitness equipment are located on either side of the pool. Internationally experienced personal fitness trainers assist the guests and members, tailoring fitness programs to individual needs. After a workout, guests can enjoy soothing drinks and light refreshments at poolside before taking the private elevator to the 45th floor spa.

While the 47th floor is a place for activity, the 45th floor is devoted to tranquility of the body and soul. Whirlpools, steam and dry saunas, cold plunge pools, and 360-degree body showers pamper the guests before or after a visit to the massage rooms where shiatsu, a traditional Japanese finger pressure massage, and Swedish oil massage are just two of the treatments practiced by expert attendants.

Both the men's and women's spas offer generously appointed locker, dressing, and grooming room facilities. Guests can continue to unwind with a drink in the games room, library, or the relaxation room while taking in the spectacular view of Tokyo by day and the city lights by night. For those who need to combine work with their workout, a conference room accommodating eight is available on a rental basis.

Early risers and those suffering from jet lag can spend their morning hours productively at the CLUB from 6:30 a.m. Those who like to wind down at the end of the day will appreciate the CLUB's late hours, until 9:30 p.m.
