Stowe Mountain Resort
Open for Skiing and Snowboarding
In the wake of a major winter storm that dumped almost three feet of snow on its slopes, Stowe Mountain Resort will officially open for
the season at 8 a. m. on Thursday, November 18, 1999.
"You couldn't ask for a more ideal opening day," said Michael Colbourn, Director of Marketing and Sales.
Ideal snowmaking temperatures plus the huge natural snowfall from this season's first giant storm will allow the resort to open with top-to-bottom
skiing and riding on 24 trails. Surface conditions will be ideal powder and packed powder, for Thursday's opening. Early season lift ticket prices will
be $34 for adults, $16 for juniors.
