New "Suddenly Single" Program Designed to Help Separated or Divorced Partners Cope with Marital Stress.

At a time when the divorce rate in America continues to ascend, The Envoy Club, New York’s latest extended-stay hotel, has introduced a new program called "Suddenly Single" to help its separated or newly divorced guests cope with the stress of moving out of the family home.

Upon arrival, guests are offered special amenities including an aromatherapy candle, a selection of soothing herbal infusions and the recent bestseller entitled "The New Creative Divorce" by Dr. Mel Krantzler and Pat Krantzler. 

For sleeplessness, The Envoy Club provides sound machines.

To loosen the knots that develop from ‘untying the knot,’ guests can make an appointment with a massage therapist.  Plus, guests are given a list of the top ten divorce attorneys in New York, as well as list of recommended therapists.  In addition, self-help tapes are available from the Concierge.  And for the more spiritually adventurous who wish to get a handle on the eventual outcome of their marital situation, a session with a reputable New York psychic can be easily arranged.

"Although The Envoy Club offers all the amenities of a luxury hotel, we are more like a residence since guests stay for a minimum of 30 days," said Mr. Rawson.  In fact, according to Mr. Rawson, newly separated and/or divorced guests choose The Envoy Club in particular because the suites provide a much homier environment for long-term stays than comparable rooms at first class hotels.

"We are discreet and confidentiality is respected," said Rawson, "but we are ready and willing to assist our guests with emotional difficulties if called upon."

The Envoy Club, located in the historic neighborhood of Murray Hill on First Avenue at 33rd Street, offers 58  alcove studios and one- and two-bedroom suites on five floors.  Monthly rates for the suites range from $4,800 to $11,500.  Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, well stocked desk with office supplies, TV, stereo with CD player, VCR, in-room fax machine, and ISDN lines for speedy Internet access.

Hotel amenities and services include 24-hour Concierge Services, 24-hour Health Club, daily maid service, laundry and dry cleaning services, on-site parking and a Pet Attach� Program.
