Go Wild for Bears

Fairmont Chateau Whistler

Vacationers looking for a chance to go wild and experience the true outdoors will find The Fairmont Chateau Whistler’s annual ‘Wild for Bears’ package a unique educational experience in one of North America’s top mountain resorts. The ‘Wild for Bears’ package available from mid-May to the end of October, is priced at $259 US per person based on double occupancy and a 1.5 exchange rate, and includes one night of accommodation, breakfast in The Wildflower, Black Bear Tour and a special salmon welcome gift.

Guided by a Michael Allen, local Black Bear researcher, guests will go on a 3-hour 4 x 4 tour of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains to visit active bear dens, daybeds and the feeding sites of the fifty Black Bears that call the mountains home. Guests will experience spectacular views of wildlife and glacial peaks through deep old growth hemlock and cedar forests. Michael’s dedication and passion for Black Bears makes the tour an unforgettable experience.

Proceeds from the Black Bear Tour will be going towards the construction of a mountain ecology and Black Bear research center on Whistler Mountain.
