16TH ANNIVERSARY OF ST. LUCIA JAZZ

MAY 4 - 13, 2007

All-star line-up includes John Legend, Al Jarreau & George Benson, Natalie Cole, W.E.S. Group, David Murray, Tania Maria, Will Downing, Gerald Albright, Norman Brown, Jonathan Butler and Isaac Hayes.

St. Lucia Jazz attracts more than 10,000 visitors a year who enjoy over a dozen musical acts in a variety of unique locations and venues throughout St. Lucia. This year marks a return to the festival's original core musical genre of heavy smooth jazz and a new policy offering increased opportunities for the private sector to participate in a more active way with the opportunity to stage their own privately produced shows.

The ten-day celebration begins with the official opening of St. Lucia Jazz on May 4th followed by a host of performances taking place each day throughout the island with the headline performances taking place from May 10 – 13 at the Pigeon Island National Landmark.

The Brazilian Tania Maria will open the main stage performances on May 10 with Grammy-award winning John Legend to headline the May 11 performance. May 12 features a full roster of musical highlights including performances by Al Jarreau & George Benson, Will Downing, Gerald Albright, Norman Brown and others.

Performances by jazz superstars Natalie Cole and Isaac Hayes will close the festival on May 13.

St. Lucia Jazz includes multiple complimentary daily shows which feature acoustical, new age and straight-ahead jazz, soul, fusion and R&B.  The "fringe" musical acts, which are unique to St. Lucia Jazz, will be held in a variety of locations and venues around the island including Jazz on the Square in Castries and Fond d'Or Jazz in Dennery.
