Fly Fishing Classic Comes to Aspen

September 11–13 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation benefit event hosted by the Sky Hotel and 39 Degrees

Fly fishing enthusiasts can "Catch the Cure" for cystic fibrosis by taking part in the Fly Fishing Classic to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, September 11–13 in Aspen, Colorado. The event is hosted by the Sky Hotel and 39 Degrees Lounge, one of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ boutique properties.

"We are proud to partner with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on this important event," states John Curnow, general manager of the Sky Hotel. "The Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers are famous for their magnificent trout fishing, and it will be a beautiful time of the year for the tournament."

Part of the Mercury Redbone @ Large Tournament Series, the Fly Fishing Classic presents participants with two full days of fishing the fabled waters of the Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers for rainbow, cutthroat and brown trout. Anglers will be paired with world-class fishing guides for the fishing experience of a lifetime.

In addition to fishing, participants will be presented with a full menu of dinners, a silent auction and an awards ceremony. The point-accumulation tournament is strictly catch-and-release, and awards will be presented to both individual and team competitors on the final day. The combination of superb fishing, Aspen’s breathtakingly beautiful fall scenery, casually welcoming western hospitality and a worthy cause will make it a weekend to treasure.

CF is the #1 genetic killer in the United States affecting over 30,000 children and young adults. It causes the body to produce abnormally thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs leading to fatal lung infections and blocks the pancreas, preventing the body from absorbing vital nutrients.

The CF Foundation was founded in 1955 and has made significant advances in an effort to treat and cure this deadly disease. The CF Foundation has been consistently ranked one of the top "Charities You Can Trust" by Smart Money magazine, because 90 cents of every dollar raised goes back into research.
