Shop Like the Women on Sex and the City
Sex and the City Fans are now able to visit the hippest
and hottest sites, and shop like the women on the popular HBO series,
courtesy of On Location Tours. The three-hour bus tour is led by actresses
and stand-up comediennes who normally dress the part of Carrie-- but on a
lower budget. Behind the scenes discussions about fashion, including
information on the Birkin Bag, the "fake" Fendi and the fact that
Charlotte's lingerie was custom made. The tour also visits Fifth Avenue,
SoHo and the West Village for shopping.
The Sex and the City Tour incorporates over 35
locations, including Carrie's apartment stoop, the Jimmy Choo boutique, the
shop where Charlotte bought her "Rabbit", the trendy Meatpacking District,
the SoHo clothing store owned by Patricia Field, head costume designer for
the show, and a stop for a complimentary cupcake at the bakery where Carrie
and Miranda sampled a cupcake. The Tour is $35 per ticket and departs daily
in front of Pulitzer Fountain on Fifth Avenue. Advance purchase is
required, as tours usually sell out. Tickets can be purchased online at
www.screentours.com or by calling Zerve, the ticket company for On
Location Tours, at (212) 209-3370.
