Stay Healthy and Fit While Vacationing in Mexico
Are you having trouble staying in
swimsuit-perfect shape, or maybe even swimsuit-acceptable shape? Who says you
have to come home from vacation looking plumper than you left? Karmina Palace
Resort in Manzanillo, Mexico - with an in-house personal trainer at a
fully-equipped fitness center and restaurants that serve diet-friendly meals -
is the perfect place for a relaxing and healthy vacation.
The addition of a full-time staff member
who is a qualified instructor means guests receive professional coaching and
routine suggestions they can take back home with them and integrate into their
regular gym schedules. "With today's emphasis on healthy living and balanced
lifestyle, it makes sense for a luxury resort to offer guests the services of a
personal coach," says General Manager Marcos Casillas. "People are so
health-conscious these days that you'll often see them up at dawn and on the
treadmill even though they're on holiday. Our gym trainer ensures they get the
most out of their workout and gain positive feedback they can continue to
implement after their vacation is over."
Karmina Palace's fitness center recently
extended hours of operation from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the week, and from 8
a.m. to 7 p.m. on the weekends. It features modern, well-serviced Cybex
stationary bicycles, treadmills, a stair climber and a wide range of workout
equipment and free weights and boasts separate men's and women's change rooms
with showers and steam rooms for after workout muscle relief. The full-service
Spa also has a wide range of massages and body treatments that can help ease
away aches.
Hot Summer Drinks and Diet-Friendly Meals
Just because you're on vacation doesn't
mean the diet goes south. Karmina offers a wide array of healthy meal options.
Indulge in traditional lime margaritas, strawberry or mango daiquiris, or
Karmina's signature drink, the watermelon margarita. The new drinks menu
includes sour apple martinis and tropical fruit concoctions including the
chamoyada, a spicy-tart thirst quencher of mango and chamoy fruit.
Vacation time is for relaxation, not
worrying about counting calories. Stick to your diet and feast guilt-free with
healthy dishes available at the three restaurants. The poolside Grill is an
excellent place to find a huge selection of buffet-style options, including a
salad bar with plenty of fixings (oil and vinegar dressing too), fresh fruit,
grilled fish fillets and steamed vegetables.

Evening a la carte restaurants Carioca and
La Trattoria have expansive menus with lite options such as fish and seafood, as
well as salads. Even the Bugambilias breakfast buffet features smoothies,
yogurt, granola, a tropical fruit bar, and an egg station where guests request
eggs cooked any way they like them, including egg white-only omelets.
The Karmina
Palace Resort has polished the concept of the all-inclusive vacation by offering
special amenities like wireless internet access in a spectacular Mayan kingdom
amid the blue waters and jungles of the Pacific Coast in Manzanillo, Mexico.
Lush gardens with tropical flowers, banana trees and coconut palms surround
eight interconnected lagoon-style pools. Nightly entertainment, 24-hour room
service, unlimited food and drink & a full-service spa make Karmina Palace the
epitome of grand tourism.
