October 13th, 14th and 15th, Springdale Canyon Community Center and Town Center Park.

Soon the tranquil sounds of the Native American flute will echo against the majestic red canyon walls of Zion Canyon.  Beginning at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 13th and continuing through Sunday, October 15th, the Zion Canyon Flute Circle presents the Zion Canyon Art And Flute Festival.

This second annual event is drawing attention all across the nation and beyond in part because of the passion people have for the soulful music of the flute and in part because of the unparalleled location for this type of event.

Though the Native American flute is the most predominate instrument of the event, this is a world flute music festival. This free event will feature over 75 flute musicians and recording artist are taking the festival stage to entertain and to take you on a journey of music, stories and culture. Some of the more notable artist includes Coyote Oldman, a 20 year veteran recording artist bring with him the re-introduction of the Anasazi flute, an instrument lost from the earth for over 700 years.

Evren Ozan, a 13 year old child prodigy, recorded his first album at the age of 7. Evren will be playing music off his newest and 3rd album of his career. One of our best world flutists attending this year is Peter Phippen. Canyon Records just released Peter's newest album titled Shadows of Dawn. Other headliners include Scott August, Peter Kater, a pianist that has recorded four albums with R. Carlos Nakai, Charles Littleleaf, Raymond Red Feather, and 2002 Olympic presenters Nino Reyos and Pauite chief Gary Thom. There are too many names to mention them all and more information is available online at www.ZionCanyonArtAndFluteFestival.com.

Friday and Saturday evening will feature two concerts at the OC Tanner Amphitheater featuring 9 of our headliners. The concerts begin at 7:00 pm and tickets are available in advance on our website www.ZionCanyonArtAndFluteFestival.com.

The festival will also have many artist showing displaying many original works of art. We should include in the artist category the mention of 26 well known flute makers from all across the nation will display hundreds of hand made flutes. Spectators will see everything from reproduction of ancient instruments to exotic woods inlayed with stone.

For the flute enthusiast wanting to learn to play or improve their playing skills, the festival also features many fee-based workshops that attendees may enroll in.
