The 6th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas
Edited by Madelyn Miller, the Travellady
When I travel, I sometimes wish I could be astro-projected
back to favorite places. Perhaps the best way to get a feeling for foreign
countries without leaving home is to see a film festival from that culture or
destination. Not only do you see and learn more about the area, but you are
sitting with a whole bunch of people as interested in the destination as you
are. Much better than being on a tour bus.
Since Asia is one of my favorite areas to explore, I am
excited about the Asian Film Festival.
Sapporo Breweries presents the 6th Annual Asian Film
Festival of Dallas featuring Asian Films from all over the world. Over 45 films
will be screened to sold out audiences which will include conversations with
some of the film makers.
The festival will kick off with Justin Lin’s critically
acclaimed film Finishing the Game and will conclude with 5 Centimeters Per
Second, directed by Makoto Shinkai.
Throughout the week different events will be held in
conjunction with the festival.
On Sunday, August 26, 2007 the Centerpiece Reception will
be held in the lobby of the Magnolia Theater from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
The closing night party will be held at Sushi Zushi on
Thursday, August 30, 2007, from 9:30 PM – 11:00 PM.

A toast to the sponsor SAPPORO BEER
Sapporo has established itself as the most popular Japanese
beer imported into the U.S. Sapporo brands represent a brewing tradition that
dates back to 1876. Sapporo Premium has been a perennial favorite from the
beginning. 100% barley malt Sapporo Reserve, comes in a distinctive gold can and
retro-labeled bottle, and is brewed twice as long as other lagers. With a rich
flavor and delicate hop aroma, Sapporo's latest offering Sapporo Light, finishes
crisp and smooth and is the first Asian light beer with low carbohydrates.
