14th Annual Taste of Vail

Culinary and wine lovers – mark your calendars for the 14th Annual Taste of Vail, which has been slated for April 7-10, 2004. 

Upwards of 5,000 people from all 50 states and three nations are expected to attend. They will be treated to gourmet food and decadent desserts from more than 30 of the Vail Valley's world-class restaurants. They will also enjoy the best wines from more than 50 of the nation’s most noted vintners, selected on an invitation-only basis.

Guests to the nation’s premier spring wine and food festival will also experience the relaxed elegance synonymous with Vail, from the fine art galleries and upscale shops to the European-style pedestrian village and international flavor of many languages spoken throughout town. Mother Nature provides the dramatic setting for the Taste of Vail, with incomparable views of the Vail Valley surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains set against Colorado’s glistening snow and cobalt-blue skies.

While the Taste of Vail is an event designed to showcase the Vail Valley lifestyle and mystique, it also serves a humanitarian purpose for the local community by raising money for Vail Valley charities.  Since it began 14 years ago, the Taste of Vail has dispersed more than $240,000 to charitable programs in the Vail Valley.

During this four-day food and wine extravaganza, here are just a few activities attendees can expect:

• Special guest chef luncheons;

• A variety of seminars on everything from wine tasting to desserts and more;

• Winemaker dinners throughout the Vail Valley;

• The popular mountaintop picnic, which is a spectacular outdoor feast at 10,000+ feet, featuring breathtaking views of the Gore Range;

• The Grand Tasting, dance and silent auction, which is an unparalleled tasting and culinary spectacle featuring all participating restaurants, wineries and the Guest Chefs.

• Wine tastings from more than 50 of the world’s most noted vintners;

In its 14th year, the Taste of Vail is the nation’s premier spring food and wine festival, held at several venues throughout North America’s #1 ski resort.  During the annual four-day event, upwards of 5,000 people are able to “taste the Vail Valley lifestyle” which showcases Vail’s world-famous resort village set against dramatic mountain vistas. Participants at the Taste of Vail experience the Vail Valley’s world-class restaurants, fine wine poured by winemakers and winery owners from top wineries around the globe, along with interactive seminars, auction and dance, après ski tasting and the popular mountaintop picnic sensory extravaganza at the top of Vail Mountain. Proceeds from the Taste of Vail go to various charities in the Vail Valley.
