Safari in Ohio? You Bet!
Cherry Valley Lodge and The Wilds Team Up
Cherry Valley Lodge announced today that the resort-style hotel is
working with The Wilds to offer guests an unforgettable Safari Package.
Located just 30 miles from Cherry Valley Lodge in Muskingum County, Ohio,
The Wilds is the only wildlife conservation facility of its kind in North
America, where giraffe, rhinoceros and bison all roam free.
This five-day, four-night package is scheduled for September 20, 2004.
The Safari gives adventure lovers the opportunity to experience rare and
endangered animals from throughout Africa, Asia and North America roaming
free in a natural habitat on nearly 9,200 acres in the hills of Ohio. Guests
will camp two nights among the animals of The Wilds in authentic Yurts and
also enjoy two nights of luxury at Cherry Valley Lodge.
The Adventure Safari package is $1,250 per person and includes four
nights of accommodations, meals and a variety of safari activities. Guests
will experience bird watching, rappelling, a night hike and other outdoor
adventures.
“This Adventure Safari allows visitors to feel like they’ve traveled to
an exotic, far-away destination while staying in the United States,” said
Cherry Valley Lodge General Manager Becky Miller. “Our Safari package
introduces guests to highly unusual activities and sights that they would
normally have to travel thousands of miles to find. Yet, we make it easy and
affordable for them to experience this right here in the Midwest.”
Before and after the Adventure Safari, guests will enjoy all the
amenities of Cherry Valley Lodge, a one-of-a-kind, 200-room resort-style
lodge located in Licking County, Ohio, 25 miles east of Columbus. Interior
design features a dramatic soaring lobby with towering twin stone
fireplaces. Two beautifully landscaped central courtyards are among the many
outdoor features of this 18-acre property, the nation’s only hotel to be
designated an official Arboretum and Botanical Garden by the American
Association for Arboreta and Botanical Gardens. Visitors also enjoy indoor
and outdoor pools, a game room and unusually large guestrooms with luxurious
appointments. Reservations and consumer information are available (800)
788-8008 or online at
