Santa Claus Delivers To Virgin Fleet At 35,000 FT!
Edited by Madelyn Miller
For the first time ever Santa Claus will be delivering
Christmas stockings to airline passengers! Passengers who are traveling in
Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class cabin on Christmas Eve (arriving on Christmas
Day) will find a stocking full of traditional Christmas goodies at the end
of their beds when they wake up.
In addition all passengers can enjoy Christmas dinner
with mince pies and a variety of competitions arranged by the crew with
prizes to be won.
I have a few questions about this holiday highlight.
1. How do they get the fruitcake through security?
2. If you fly over the International dateline on Xmas,
do you get to celebrate twice? Imagine, double mincemeat pies in the air.
3. If I win the competitions, will they ship my prize
home as extra baggage?
Sir Richard Branson, Chairman of Virgin Atlantic
commented: “Christmas is a busy time with many people traveling long
distances to see their families and friends and we are delighted to
offer them some festivities onboard to get them in the mood for
Christmas!“ I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New
Year!”
Virgin Atlantic will also be offering all passengers
traditional Christmas dinners on all flights between 14 and 26 December
2004. This will include traditional turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes,
sprouts, carrots and gravy followed by mince pies.
As an extra treat for Upper Class passengers, the Upper
Class amenity kit, designed by Ozwald Boateng will include a designer gift
bag including a limited edition Ozwald Boateng key ring, Christmas hat and
seasonal motto.
Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class Suite is now available on
all of the airline’s Heathrow B747-400 and A340-600 aircraft. The
revolutionary Upper Class Suite consists of a reclining leather seat for
take off, a place to sit and eat a proper meal opposite your partner, and
the longest fully flat bed in the world.
