You Don’t have to be Santa to get free Chocolate Chip Cookies from Doubletree

Edited By Madelyn Miller, the TravelLady

I love my job. I go all over the world trying the best restaurants and hotels and shopping and experiencing spas. If I had to choose a specialty it would be tasting chocolate chip cookies.

Although I do think I have already found the best chocolate chip cookies in the world. http://www.travellady.com/Issues/February04/WheretoGettheVeryBest.htm
I still think it is found at Doubletree Hotels. But I do plan to continue the search.

Just imagine Santa’s job. Sliding down all those chimneys with heavy boxes of toys. He deserves all the cookies he gets. I wonder if he likes the Doubletree Chocolate Chip Cookies as much as I do.

If you have never tasted one, now is the time to try them. For FREE.

This holiday season, kids and kids-at-heart will be lining up at Doubletree Hotels®  in last-minute attempts to earn extra points on Santa’s “nice” list.

Just in time for the jolly old man to slide down chimneys everywhere, Doubletree is offering complimentary freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies – Old Saint Nick’s favorite kind – to anyone who drops by any of its more than 150 properties in North America from December 22 to December 31, 2005. All ages are welcome and no purchase is necessary. Simply visit a Doubletree hotel to request your complimentary cookie.

“The Doubletree ‘Cookies for the Holidays’ campaign is a fun way for us to celebrate the spirit of giving in our communities by setting the standard ourselves, and having some fun by satisfying chocolate cravings across the country,” said Dave Horton, senior vice president - brand management. “It’s a time-honored tradition to put out cookies for Santa. This year, we’re helping kids provide Santa Claus with some of the most delicious cookies ever!”

The Doubletree tradition of greeting guests at check-in with its legendary warm chocolate chip cookie has set the standard since the 1980s. Doubletree gives out approximately 29,000 chocolate chip cookies each day; that’s more than 10,500,000 each year! Each cookie weighs a hearty 2 1/2 ounces and boasts an average of 20 chocolate chips.

The Doubletree “Cookies for the Holidays” promotion shares the hotel’s signature cookies with the young and old to celebrate the holiday season. Each person (or child) will be presented with one Doubletree cookie, while supplies last.

And if you miss this one, or you want more, A sweet treat tin of Doubletree cookies can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. and Canada by placing an order at www.doubletreecookies.com.

GOOD DEEDS WITH CHOCOLATE
Chef Hilly Blondheim has put his culinary skills to good use and turned a simple boyhood treat into a life-saving instrument in the fight against breast cancer. Whether its sprinkled on top of fruit or ice cream, to enhance the flavor of coffee or a smoothie, blended into waffle or pancake batter, used in a chocolate martini, sampled as fondue, or simply to make the best cup of hot chocolate you have ever tasted, the possibilities for this gourmet chocolate mix are endless.
