Top 5 Gambling Destinations Beyond Las Vegas

edited by Madelyn Miller, the TravelLady

Think of gambling and scenes of Las Vegas floats across your mind but, now its not only the "sin city" that stays "top of the mind" for gamblers. Las Vegas has tough competitors on its cards too. Check these gambling destinations beyond Las Vegas:

Atlantic City

This is a little Las Vegas by the sea where big money investors are always busy making big bets. In recent years, the city has witnessed a remarkable financial hike in the notable eleven casinos where you also get to enjoy the pleasures of celebrity chef restaurants, nightclubs in New York style and sprawling spas. To add more to the excitement you also have a historic concert hall where musical bands like The Police, The Rolling Stones and Madonna can just turn you mad with their power packed performances. The casinos are great attractions with sparkling new retail, dining and entertainment complexes like The Pier Shops at Caesars (where Tiffany & Gucci boutiques hold court) and the Havana-inspired The Quarter at Tropicana. Once you try your luck at one of these eleven casinos, you are sure to win a bulk.

Macau

Five years ago who would have thought that very soon Macau would take a high seat in the world of gambling and give America's Sin City a tough fight. No matter what you are – a card player or an expert with roulette, boule or slots – Macau has all to offer you. In Macau, there are 26 casinos over eleven square miles. Among the 26, the $2.4 billion Venetian Macau is the sizable gaming or hotel complex where you find 4,000 slots and 800 gaming tables. Within a very short span of time, this one has become world's most notable casino. There are further plans of opening new casino-hotels in Macau.

Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is esteemed for its high-stakes casinos with astounding glamour and richness. It is a pleasure to visit the casino so intricately designed by Charles Garnier with the nineteenth century belle époque architecture. Better to call it majestic Monte Carlo casino and the place is so wonderfully adorned with a marble-paved atrium surrounded by giant onyx columns. This however opens on both an opera venue and a casino floor where you see several slot tables lying all around on the casino floor. These gaming equipments have been perfectly placed between sculptures, frescos and paintings. However, if it strikes on the day it will not be a surprise for you to make your fortune at Monte Carlo casino.

Sun City

You can gamble or watch a game of gamble at Sun City casino. It is a gambling complex having a South African jungle theme and it is located just ninety minutes northwest of Johannesburg on the southern border of Pilanesberg National Park. Before you try your luck with a game of punto banco or baccarat you can really enjoy a "big five" safari of lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes to feel great and refreshed. Not only to play you can even come here to learn the tricks of table games such as roulette, blackjack, craps, and stud poker. Therefore, it is an opportunity for you to earn a big sum and prove Sun City the Fun City of your life.

Niagara Falls

Gambling with wondrous waterfall sights – this combination has indeed worked in attracting multiple tourists to the destination. Casinos here are new and the uprising game movement has been much supported by the Casino Niagara on the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls. However, the year 2004 marked the opening of the ever-popular Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort, which successfully replaced the former one making gambling a favorite game of all. The Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort has a total of 300,000 square feet of gambling area where you would find a concert hall, a wedding chapel along with having 4,750 slot machines and 285 table games.
