A Democratic Straw Poll...of Cocktails
Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC Serves
Candidate Cocktails
The Democratic Primary season is in full swing, and
Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC has undertaken our patriotic duty of
determining just which Democratic candidate is most popular as a cocktail,
that is. Four Seasons' Garden Terrace Lounge has introduced a partisan
lineup of cocktails that captures the spirit of each candidate.
KERRY CATCH UP (Tequila, Cointreau, fresh raspberries
and lime)
DEAN'S SCREAM (Vanilla vodka, rum and coconut puree)
JOHNNY E. GOOD (Vodka and Hpnotiq)
KU KU WHO (Passion Fruit puree, Vodka and Lime)
CUP'A JOE (Vanilla vodka, Bailey's Irish Cream,
decaffeinated coffee)
IRREVERENT REVEREND (Vodka, White and Black Godiva
Liqueur and chocolate shavings)
WILD WILD WES (Chivas Royal Salute and clove orange)

Kerry Catchup
Dean's Scream
George W. MD
The Four Seasons Hotel Washington DC is conducting its
own straw poll using the popularity of these cocktails to determine who's up
and who's down. They will announce the weekly results each week until the
Democratic field is winnowed down to one. The last Democratic Cocktail
standing will then go head-to-head against the GEORGE W. MD (White Tequila,
Vodka, Gin, Rum and Spiced Iced Tea.)
The Democratic Primary might be shaping up to be a
one-man race with John Kerry emerging as the front runner but the guests at
the Four Seasons Hotel Washington are casting their votes differently. Our
two-week-old cocktail straw poll reveals another leader: by a two-to-one
margin, the most popular cocktail by far: Dean's Scream. A distant second
is the Johnny E. Good. The Irreverent Reverend claims third place, while
the Kerry Catch Up, the Cup'a Joe and the Ku Ku Who are in a virtual
dead-heat toward the back of the pack. The cocktail receiving the least
"votes" is the Wild Wild Wes? a straight shot of Chivas.
