Dining Out for Life Benefiting
Bryan's House Set for March 11, 2004
Sit down, savor a meal, save a life. On Thursday, March
11, thousands of Dallas-area diners will participate in Dining Out for Life,
the annual fundraising event benefiting Bryan’s House. This one-day dining
event invites the community to dine at one of more than 35 participating
restaurants who have each pledged to donate 25 percent of the day’s proceeds
to make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by
HIV/AIDS. In the past year, Bryan’s House has provided services to nearly
700 children and 250 families affected by HIV/AIDS.
Dining Out for Life takes place in more than 30 cities
internationally and is the largest AIDS fundraiser in the United States,”
notes Sheryl Wylie, interim executive director of Bryan’s House. “We depend
on the community for more than 62 percent of our funding, and are thus most
grateful to have this event in Dallas where so many have rallied to support
the efforts of Bryan’s House.”

For more than 15 years, Bryan’s House has been here for
children and families suffering because of the HIV epidemic. For children
whose parents cannot provide care, Bryan’s House is a 24-hour loving,
nurturing home. For others, Bryan’s House provides a respite for children
to give families a needed break. Our mission is to help keep families
together, saving the community valuable health and foster care dollars, and
giving children and families the gift of life in the face of death.
On Thursday, March 11, 2004, thousands of Dallas-area
diners will patronize participating local restaurants to support the annual
Bryan’s House fundraiser, Dining Out for Life. This one-day dining event
invites the community to dine at participating restaurants where a portion
of each bill will be donated to Bryan’s House, a non-profit pediatric
HIV/AIDS service organization in Dallas that provides free medically-managed
childcare, adolescent services and support services to nearly 700 children
and 250 families affected by HIV/AIDS.
Dining Out for Life is the largest AIDS fundraiser in
the United States and is an event that occurs in more than 30 cities in the
United States and internationally.

WHO: Master Chef Sharon Van Meter will serve as
chairman for Dining Out For Life.
Bryan’s House opened its doors in 1988 after two women,
Lydia Allen and Stephanie Held, recognized the critical need for care for
HIV-infected children. After moving to a new and larger facility in 2001,
Bryan’s House was able to triple its childcare capacity create exciting new
programs, such as the Bryan’s House Adolescent Program. Bryan’s House
relies heavily on the Dallas community for support.
