Spring Skiing in New Mexico
Great Snow and Plenty of Savings
Heavy
snows continue to fall in New Mexico's mountains setting up the best conditions
for Spring Skiing in years. As reported to Ski New Mexico Monday morning,
2/21/05, this past weekend's winter storm left all of the state's ski area's
with lots of new snow adding to already abundant coverage:
Taos - 28 new inches
Santa Fe - 19 new inches
Angel Fire - 13 new inches
Enchanted Forest XC Ski Area - 13 new inches
Ski Apache - 9 new inches
Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort - 9 new inches
Pajarito Mountain Ski Area - 9 new inches
Red River - 8 new inches
Taos has a 110 inch base and Santa Fe has a 113 inch base
as of Monday 2/21. Both are more typical figures for the very end of the season.
New Mexico has not seen equal base depths at this time of year for many winters.
The rest of the state's ski and snowboard resorts have similarly high base
figures for their respective areas: http://www.skinewmexico.com/intpage-snowreports
