Imagine a phone that could anticipate your every phone need. Just start typing in a name or word and the special language finishes your word or sentence.

Imagine a phone that would not just let you talk, but also read your e-mail, order gifts online, check the news, and more. This is a phone that is sort of like a personal secretary and a best friend combined.

I test drove (maybe I should say test-talked) the Nextel phone service, and it convinced me that I needed a cell phone. I have felt with a laptop and a Palm Pilot, I was a cyberwoman. But I soon learned I was still lacking a lot.

It does take a little time to learn all its tricks. Thankfully, it comes with not only an easy-to-read instruction manual, but also a video to show you the way.

The speakerphone is terrific. Loud, clear, and very easy to understand. One time when I was walking through an airport talking, it was perhaps too loud and clear and everyone stared. I am sure they were thinking—I wish that woman would turn down her speaker—but I did not know how yet.

If you fall in love with this phone as much as I did, you might want to know about the Unlimited Direct Connect feature. Instead of paying by the minute, you have the option of making and receiving unlimited Private Call as for one monthly fee. Imagine how much a teenager or two lovers would enjoy that.

1. Shopping. You could be in the middle of the desert or a rain forest and can order exactly what you need. (delivery of the items may be a bit more difficult).
2. E-mail
3. Travel. If you have booked travel arrangements through Expedia.com you can access your itinerary, including flight and boarding information, as well as hotel and rental car accommodations and confirmations.
4. Flights. Obtain current flight information including arrival and departure times and gate information when available
5. Directions. Obtain location-specific directions on the quickest route possible from Sidewalk.com
6. Weather. Get an abbreviated 5 day forecast for your zip code along with the option to change the city for which the weather is displayed
7. News. View the top 3 local and national news headlines from MSNBC.
8. Finance. Get stock quotes and find out about your own portfolio.
9. Sports. Get the top sports scores.
10. Horoscope. Access your personal horoscope or display a list of all signs
