located along the Freedom Trail in the heart of Boston. The hotel recently
completed a three -year, $70 million restoration that upgraded its 551 rooms
and added state-of-the-art services while restoring the original ornate
features built by master 19th century craftsmen. Also included in the
restoration was the historic Last Hurrah bar, for more than a century the
meeting place of Boston and state political leaders. The bar is named for
Edwin O'Connor's 1956 novel, The Last Hurrah, a fictional account of the
life of legendary Boston Mayor, and frequent Parker House visitor, James
Michael Curley. Omni Hotels has been ranked the company "Highest
in Guest Satisfaction Among Upscale Chains" by J.D. Power and
Associates in its 2000 hotel guest satisfaction study. The chain
scored especially high in food and beverage, guest rooms and hotel services
such as security, wake up calls and other guest related functions.
