Pinestock

A Festival of Music, Grapes and Grain

by Dave Shultz

Ruidoso, New MexicoOne of the best kept secrets of Southern New Mexico is Ruidoso, a resort community nestled in the Southern Rocky Mountains.  Ruidoso has a lot to offer travelers.  Skiing, golf, fishing, horse racing, gambling, dining and now, Pinestock, a "Festival of Music, Grapes and Grain”.  Pinestock may not be as large as Woodstock but I guarantee you it will be just as much fun and a lot cleaner.

Wineries from the Southwest Wine Competition, a seven state regional wine competition, will man booths offering samples of their finest wines. Joining the wineries will be New Mexico micro breweries. A variety of other vendors will round out the festival.  There will be something for everyone.

Delbert McClintonEntertainment for this year’s Pinestock celebration is diverse. The musical line-up offers something for everyone with groups ranging from “Country” to “Rock” , “Blues” and “World Beat”. Pinestock will feature musical acts like Grammy Award winning Delbert McClinton who will headline Saturday’s show. Internationally acclaimed Jack Mack & the Heart Attack anchors Sunday’s event.

Tickets will be $25 per day or $40 for a two day pass. VIP passes include a VIP reception on June 8th, reserved parking and access to the festival Hospitality Area are available for $125 per person. Limited numbers of tickets for each day will be available, so advanced purchases are recommended.

Pinestock will take place June 9 and 10, 2001 at the Eagle Creek Softball Complex in Ruidoso, New Mexico. A combination of two events, Pinestock and the Southwest Wine Competition, the new Pinestock has reformed and energized into a much larger event and venue.
