Coffee, Tea, or...Exfoliation?

New skin treatment at the Spa Without Walls

Your coffee is served with more than just cream at The Orchid at Mauna Lani's Spa Without Walls. Utilizing the islands vast resources—vanilla, coffee, kukui (candlenut) to name a few—an innovative body treatment called Hawaii's Big Island Vanilla Coffee Exfoliation reawakens the spirit, softens the skin, and gently exfoliates.

The exfoliation recipe is a product of Warren Botanicals, Inc.; a company specializing in locally manufactured spa products. Warren Botanicals, Inc. is owned and operated by Sharon Warren and is located in Kailua-Kona on the Island of Hawaii. "The Coffee Exfoliation Treatment is extremely uplifting and exotic and allows our guests to truly feel they are experiencing Hawaii," says Warren. "Although the coffees value is purely aromatic, I've included many other ingredients that have therapeutic benefits."

coffee the Hawaiian wayThe ingredient list is impressive: raw turbinado sugar (an antiseptic and mild hydroxy similar to papaya enzymes); vanilla - "fruit of the orchid" (a warming, soothing and exotic aphrodisiac); orange essential oil (an oil that works as a digestive and helps reduce water retention - it also has anti-depressant and calming effects and encourages energy); kukui (candlenut) oil (excellent for dry skin, contains very high levels of essential fatty acids that are readily absorbed by the skin); grapeseed oil (a non-allergenic, anti-oxidant and carrier for essential oil distribution throughout the body); green tree extract; ginseng; jojoba oil and much more. A spray of vanilla body mist finishes off the treatment. The exfoliation treatment takes 25 minutes and costs $65.
