Finding Nirvana in Naples
By Madelyn Miller
Imagine a place where the sun almost always shines, where world class restaurants serve an enticing array of food to tempt your palate, and sensual spas pamper your body.
I just discovered Naples, Florida. And I can't wait to go back.
Here are a few of my favorites:
BEST DRINK: Cheesecake Martini at the Edgewater Beach Hotel. A blend of Stoli, vanilla, cranberry and pineapple juice.
BEST PLACE FOR A HEALTHY MEAL: H20 Café at the Ritz Carlton. Gorgeous Bento Boxes and there is even a bento box of desserts.
BEST HOT ROCKS MASSAGE: Ask for Gary at the Registry Hotel. Consider having it poolside.
BEST STORE FOR BROWSING: Wind in the Willows. Of course you will want to buy some of their colorful and unique things-so maybe I should call this category best store for buying.
BEST MANICURE: a Feast of Flowers from Cathy at the Ritz Carlton. I am writing this over a week later, and my nails still look great.
BEST DINNER BUFFET: Registry Hotel.
BEST SELECTION OF TEAS: h20 offers Emily Rose teas in a delicious assortment of unique flavors. Very soothing.
BEST LAMB CHOPS: The house specialty of Lamb Chops at the Edgewater Beach Hotel are some of the best I have ever had.
BEST PAMPERING FOR THE SOUL: Naples Museum of Art. The custom commissioned Dale Chihuly are the pride of Naples, and not to be missed.
YUMMIEST MASSAGE LOTION: Registry Hotel has a unique desert blend.
BEST FACIAL: Total Body Salon and Spa. Owner Joyce Pasquino made me wish I lived in Naples so I could be a regular. Mom and daughter make this place heaven on earth.
BEST REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT: Poolside at the Escalante Hotel.
BEST
SOUFFLÉ: Might be at Don Shula's Steakhouse restaurant but the waiter said it was too late to order one the night I was there.
BEST PLACE TO DINE ON THE BEACH: The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club. Go to HB's on the Gulfat sunset and see one of the most glorious skies in the world. No extra charge for the sunset.
BEST SELF PAMPERING: mini-massager for feet from the Sharper Image at Waterside Shops
