Bridgeview Winery Donates Proceeds of Wine Sales to NYC Firefighters Widows' & Children's Fund

To help the families of the firemen who were lost in the NY tragedy, Bridgeview Winery will make a donation to the NYC - UFA Widows' and Children's Fund of $0.50 for each bottle of Bridgeview wine that is sold during the months of October, November, and December 2001.

Based on last year's sales, this donation will be in excess of $100,000. Bridgeview's goal is to make it five times that amount! Bridgeview is not raising their prices, so the consumer is not paying for this donation.

This donation was inspired by Robert Kerivan, owner of Bridgeview, who was a fireman in Long Beach, CA for eleven years. Two of Bridgeview's key grape growers as well as a vineyard manager are also former firemen. Says Robert Kerivan, "I worry about the spouses and children left behind. These families who could be in trouble for years, have to make a major life change and will need support. I would like to see this program inspire other companies to do the same."

Bridgeview Winery, headquartered in Cave Junction, Oregon, is one of Oregon's largest family-owned wineries. In business since 1986, Bridgeview's wines are distributed in 40 states. Bridgeview is known for shaking up the wine industry by introducing blue bottles for their "Blue Moon" Riesling and "Blue Moon" Chardonnay.
