Shop for Furniture
in Paradise
On the Furniture and Craft Trail with Melia Bali
“Shop-a-holics”
who are seeking out home furnishing bargains in Bali can experience Bali's
unique Hindu culture and traditions with Meliá Bali's seven nights/eight
days Balinese Furniture And Craft Experience. An activity-filled
itinerary, the specially designed holiday package combines various
shopping excursions with ample opportunities to relax and unwind within a
tropical beach setting.
A step by step
adventure into Balinese arts and crafts, Meliá Bali has identified the top
producers and sellers of furniture, home accessories, crafts, and art
located around the island. Participants will not only get to enjoy a wide
range of Indonesian style sensations, they also will utilize private
transportation and shop directly at the producers. Furniture designs vary
from traditional to contemporary with various woods used, such as teak,
mahogany, meranti, bamboo, and coconut. Each designer has their own
signature style, and price structures vary depending on bargaining ability
and quantity. Several antique suppliers have been selected for guests
searching for 19th & 20th century Javanese and Balinese pieces. During
each shopping tour, guests will enjoy the breathtaking scenery around
Bali.
In addition to
furniture, guests will visit stone carvers, wood carvers, iron workshops,
art shops, art galleries, antique shops, wicker shops, batik producers,
and craft markets. Customized work can be requested within the stone
carvers, wood carvers, and iron workshops to provide a personalized memory
of the guest's vacation experience. The island's exotic tropical
environment and diverse culture stimulate Balinese and international
artists to achieve greatness. Globally known for their rich talent and
passion of art, this creative community displays various styles and
impressions for guests to select. Reliable cargo companies are available
for international shipping, and can be coordinated by Meliá Bali, with
shipping costs billed as incurred.
For those guests
still walking after 3 days of shopping, a special Besakih Temple Tour
is available for the field study of the role of furniture, crafts and
architecture and its importance in binding Balinese history, communities,
and families together. Upon returning to Meliá Bali, the comfort and
service of a five-star resort await you.
