Shopping Tour of Florence Combines Big Savings on Designer Goods Plus Cultural Excursions

Select Italy Tours, a division of upscale tour operator Select Italy, has set two departure dates for an escorted shopping tour of Florence during the most important sale season in the Italian fashion capital. With savings from 30% to 60% and more off US prices, the finest Italian designer goods and artisan works are available for the bargain-hunting shopper who also wants to experience the culture and history of Florence.

“We planned this shopping trip to coincide with the best sale season in Florence,” said Roz Katz, director of Select Italy Tours. “Unlike US retailers, who have small sales just about every other week, Italian retailers put their goods on sale only twice a year, and we will be there for it. “For the shopper who wants the finest goods at big discounts, and a memorable, unique shopping experience, this tour is perfect, particularly for a small group of women who want to get away together or a single woman who will feel welcomed into a small group. As this tour occurs during a traditionally slow travel season, the crowds are very small in Florence and air fares are at their lowest.”

Prior to each departure, travelers will indicate what type of goods they are interested in purchasing. The guide will then arrange for visits to these retailers as well as assist in filling out VAT forms for tax reimbursement.

The Florence Shopping Tour departure dates are Tuesday, January 23, January 28, 2001, and Tuesday, January 30 February 4, 2001. The cost is $1,445 per person/double occupancy and includes 4 night’s accommodations in the heart of Florence’s shopping district. Clients are accompanied by a guide and will visit outlets such as Gucci, Prada and those specializing in gold, silk, cashmere, linens and leather. This tour will also include a private visit of the Capponi Palace, plus tea with Count Capponi; cultural tour of Florence; transfers; daily breakfast, and welcome and farewell dinners. Wholesale air rates available upon request, and individual arrangements are also available.

Each departure date is limited to 8-14 people. Reservations for the Florence Shopping Tour must be made by January 2002.
