BED is an Important Part
of The Queen VictoriaTM Bed and Breakfast

Bedding press release.doc.JPGGetting a good night’s sleep at The Queen Victoria Bed and Breakfast is no accident. It is carefully planned. Joan and Dane Wells, innkeepers since 1980, utilize their many years of experience to ensure guest comfort at The Queen Victoria Bed and Breakfast. Providing the setting for a good night’s sleep for their guests is a priority.

Quality mattresses and box springs are chosen with comfort in mind, not on the basis of cost, using premium name brands such as Stearns and Foster. Dane's previous experience in Strawbridge & Clothier's furniture department guides the selection of a firm yet comfortable mattress. A schedule is strictly maintained to rotate and flip mattresses to maintain their integrity and comfort for guests.

The bed linens are 100% natural long staple sateen cotton with a 310-thread count. Each sheet, top and bottom, as well as every pillowcase is ironed (yes, ironed!) before being placed on the beds.  Quality woolen blankets are protected by a third sheet for comfort and cleanliness. Quilts, hand quilted by Mennonites in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania complete the bedding providing color and warmth and complementing the fine antique furnishings in each room.

Guests have a choice of pillows, with two custom-made feather and two high-quality hypoallergenic pillows in each room and suite. Other features ensuring a good night's sleep are individually controlled heating and air conditioning and room darkening shades behind the lace window curtains.

And the icing on the cake, so to speak, is the evening room preparation with full housekeeping and turndown service. Guests return from an evening of fine dining or touring to find their room freshened, the lights selectively dimmed for a romantic atmosphere, and two delicious custom-made chocolates, complete with the Queen Victoria crown imprint, placed on their bed.

The Queen Victoria, with twenty-one attractive rooms and suites, is located in the center of historic Cape May, New Jersey and is open all year. More information can be found at www.queenvictoria.com. For reservations, call 609-884-8702.

Sweet dreams at the Queen Victoria Bed and Breakfast!
