2002 Tour Programs
For 2002 British
Columbia's Whistler Northwind luxury rail tour is offering everything from
the Pacific Ocean to the Rockies in its 2002 Discovery Tour packages. This
year there are seven optional tour programs that enable guests to enhance
their Whistler Northwind journey into other areas of British Columbia and
Alberta. The Whistler Northwind's basic itinerary travels north and south
between Vancouver and Prince George, British Columbia with overnights in
Whistler Resort and 100 Mile House.
The Discovery Tours include the eleven-day, ten-night,
Queen Charlotte Islands Adventure, which features a taste of Canada's native
heritage. It includes a visit to Skidegate Haida Gwaii Museum and a
traditional Haida meal in the company of Haida residents. Prices begin at
$4,835. Cdn/$3,225. US.
The nine-day, eight-night Totem Pacific Tour takes
guests west to the Pacific Ocean then south through the Inside Passage to
Vancouver Island, down the island to British Columbia's capital, Victoria,
then back to Vancouver. You will travel by rail, ferry and motorcoach.
Prices begin at $2,370. Cdn/$1,580.
Other options include heading east with the Jasper &
The Rockies package. This eight-day, seven-night itinerary is the choice of
rail lovers, taking guests by train east to Jasper aboard VIA Rail's Skeena,
then south to Vancouver aboard Via Rail's "Canadian", or the reverse.
Prices begin at $2,775 Cdn/$1,850. US.
The Whistler
Northwind showcases the best of Canada's West: diverse landscapes; fresh,
healthful cuisine; world-recognized BC wines, and gracious hospitality.
Guests ride in spacious, comfortable seats, in new all-dome passenger
coaches. The remainder of the train consists of tastefully restored and
refurbished vintage cars.
