Blue Mesa Grill

6th Annual Hatch Green Chile Festival

Chile harvest time in New Mexico is coming up and Blue Mesa will be celebrating its 6th Annual Hatch Green Chile Festival.  Hatch, New Mexico is considered the "Chile Capital of the World."

Blue Mesa imports these tasty peppers at the height of their season to feature them  in the festival kick-off parties and specials which will run for about a month (or whenever the chiles run out).  The parties (at all four Blue Mesa locations) will be food and tequila extravaganzas serving   margaritas and Hatch chile specialties such as steak relleno tacos, pozole, blue corn crusted diver scallops with Hatch chile salsa, guacamole and more.  Recipe-ready peppers will be roasted on view in a special chile roasting drum and complimentary samples will be given out to guests.  Blue Mesa’s Fire Roasted Salsa (also prepared with Hatch chiles) will be available in pint containers for only $2.95.   Tres Platas and Conmemorativo Tequilas from Sauza will be featured in the top shelf margaritas at the events.  Blue Mesa’s tequila bar features over 40 tequilas. Top shelf margaritas are made the authentic way, hand-shaken with Cointreau and fresh lime juice.

Chiles are the cornerstone of Southwestern food.  The chiles that come from New Mexico’s Mesilla Valley are prized for their flavor and fire.  The Hatch  is a type of Anaheim chile that is only available from this region at this time of year.  “Our Hatch festival really offers the fun and flavors that Blue Mesa is famous for,” says Executive Chef Bud Boswell.  The month long specials served at Blue Mesa will include Green Chile Pozole (cup $3, bowl $4), Hatch Green Chile Rellenos ($9), Beef Tenderloin Wrapped Chile Relleno with Ranchera Sauce ($15), and Stacked Enchiladas with Chile-Pozole Sauce ($7.50).
